About Me

I got my first guitar at 10. My parents signed me up for lessons with a local teacher.

I got frustrated with lessons pretty quickly. It was a lot of 'do this' without a lot of explanation.

Play this because 'I said so'. I felt like I wasn't learning the right way - even at 10.

I quit lessons and started messing around on my own, learning bits from other kids who played, trying to figure out

songs from records and books. I was playing, but I had no idea what I was doing. Everything was disconnected.

Learning a new song was sheer memorization.

Then I met a man named Jeff Becker.

For those of you who didn't know Jeff, he was a master player and a master teacher. Jeff came up with a method

that made learning engaging, exciting and fun. I never felt better about playing then after a lesson. He gave me a love of the instrument

and music that's grown every year. I still find ways to challenge myself and find playing and teaching, even the simplest things, fulfilling.

Sadly, Jeff passed away in 2002. I started teaching to hopefully pass the same joy he gave me on to others.

I took Jeff's methods and combined them with my own experience playing and recording with bands

to come up with a program that will teach you how to both physically and mentally play the guitar.

My goal is to help you find happiness in music!
